Classic Hot Rod Muscle Cars

I attended the 22nd Annual “Cruisin Ocean City” this past weekend. What a show! The weather was perfect with over 3,500 registered Hot Rods, Customs, Classics and Trick Trucks cruisin around Ocean City, Maryland. Lots of cars and vendors were on site at the Convention Center Parking Lot and right on the beach at the Inlet Parking Lot. Here is my favorite car from the show:Favorite Car at Ocean City, MD Car show

Owners Stories:
Joe Trolio’s 41 Willys Coupe – In 1972, Joe started looking for a Willy’s coupe and found an ad in the Philadelphia newspaper. When he went to look at it, he discovered it was the old “Stone, Wood, and Cook” ’41 drag car. What a find! This car was run all over the U.S. in the late 50′s and early 60′s, won its class at the U.S. Nationals and many other events.

Dave Heater’s 1960 Ford Starliner – When you owned that special car and it’s long left your hands, you always wonder what happened to it. A really interesting story is having contacted a previous owner… 4 owners back! We got their names off some of the garage receipts that came with the paperwork. We tracked them down. Ann and Jack owned the Starliner back in the mid to late 1980′s and were just as excited as we are that “their” car is alive and well! This car has brought 4 people together who live in 3 different areas of the country (Maryland, Chicago, and Las Vegas). Thanks to our Starliner we have made lasting friendships.

After attending “Cruisin Ocean City”, I’m now a classic car enthusiast. I now want to own one of the classic cars from the 40′s, 50′s or 60′s. I’m not sure exactly what car I would like to own or restore, but I know it will be a lot of fun searching and owning one of the classics.

What’s your favorite classic car? Any classic car stories of your own? What was your first car? Please leave in comments below.

It’s interesting that your favorite car is the same as my wife. (The white Thunderbird) We talk to the gentleman pictured next to it every year. Nice that you also have a picture of my car (The Black Camaro ZL1, #303) and my wife at the front of it. I also have a classic Camaro but wanted to put the new one on the road. I have been going to the Endless Summer Crusin’ shows since the ’90s. The 2012 show was one of the best even tho we were rained out on Sunday. Sounds like you have been bitten. Maybe we will see you in the show next year.
