For the last 5 months the Man Cave has been collecting dust, most owners have been outdoors enjoying their hobbies such as golfing, boating, fishing, or whatever activity they do during the spring and summer. But this Sunday all that will change, as the start of the NFL season will bring men back indoors to the Man Cave to watch football all day long. In my case, I will get started around 11am on Sunday morning to catch some of the pre game and fantasy football shows. Usually the 1st Sunday of the NFL season is a good time for a party in the Man Cave, so I make sure the bar is stocked and there are plenty of football snacks incase the guys stop by. If you are a fantasy football owner, the Man Cave is the perfect place to track all your players. Hopefully, you have multiple flat screens and the NFL ticket to watch all the game simultaneously.
While the opening games of the NFL seasons get us back into our Man Caves, the warm weather prevents it from being the official start of Man Cave Season. There are other options to choose from other than the Man Cave while the weather is still warm in most of the country. This is the reason why the start of the football season is the unofficial start of Man Cave Season. It’s hard to begin your Man Cave hibernation when “The Boys of Summer” are still in action at the ballpark. Not only are your other hobbies still in play, but there is also the outdoor chores such as mowing, trimming and raking that takes time away from your Man Cave.
In late November the weather has turned and all the outdoor hobbies and chores give way to indoor activities. Now it’s time to officially declare the start of Man Cave Season when the hibernation period can truly begin. Black Friday is the perfect day to celebrate the start of Man Cave Season as most people get the day after Thanksgiving off. All the major sports except Baseball are on TV and your wife or girlfriend is likely out shopping that day. So invite over your buddies and spend the day drinking beer, smoking stogies, watching sports, and shooting pool with the guys. If you have a good woman, just maybe she will buy you something for your Man Cave while she is out shopping to celebrate the official start of Man Cave Season.
